Our business policy is simple – do it the right way. Keeping with this policy, Suminter has made large investments in globally recognized technologies over the years.
All of our facilities are certified organic. Since the certification process alone requires stringent criteria, all facilities are held with various global organic standard compliances. The facility has implemented food safety management systems including HACCP, GMP+ and has been credited with BRC A grade – one of the highest in its category. Bergwerff strictly adheres to a policy of Total Quality Management, and we allow no compromises when it comes to customer satisfaction.
Our Policy
Organic Processing
Suminter successfully runs its own state-of-the-art processing house located in Indore (central India) dedicated to 100% organic processing. The 15,000 square metric food park allows Suminter to provide products of the highest quality in compliance with international standards and customer requirements.
The company possesses state of the art Eco2 Natural Fumigation Systems and the Imtech-Steri steam sterilization unit. Eco2 processes, treats and fumigates organic produce in a manner that increases product shelf-life and eliminates any chance of infestation in the produce for over two years, through natural and organic processes. The Swiss-imported steam-sterilizer is the latest in steam technology that both reduces and controls the microbial load of products in accordance with international organic standards.
Spice and Seed Processing
With the high volumes of spices and seeds that Suminter produces, we have invested in technologically advanced lines for spice/seed cleaning, blending and packaging. We have specially assigned experts to supervise the entire processing right from seed-collection, processing, packaging to final export. We strictly manage the product quality from the appearance of moisture and colors, to the control of allergen materials and non-GMO management. We have quality control inspectors to keep the storage conditions regularly checked and record any quality issues,which are addressed and treated with the highest priority.
Soyameal Processing
Suminter also produces soyameal, the residue left over from soya beans after the extraction of oil. Being a major source of animal feed, the soyameal is processed in advanced GMP+ certified machinery. This machinery, which is mainly implemented in the United Kingdom, allows us to produce organic soyameal with zero risk of GMO contamination while retaining a higher protein content at nearly 38-42%. This has enabled the quality ofSuminter’s animal feed production to be much higher than others in the market.
Cotton Processing
Cotton is processed in our in-house ginning facility in the state of Gujarat. Seed cotton arrives from the field tothe mill to separate lint and seed. The operation of the unit meets 100% ethical norms and is compliant with the ETA codes based on internal standards, GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standards) and Organic Exchange(OCS). The unit produces some of the finest 29 mm staple cotton fiber, which is then moved to a warehouse for storage until it is shipped.
Sugar Processing
Suminter’s sugar processing facility is located in the state of Maharashtra. This facility, which possesses a state-of-the-art, fully-automatic processing unit, processes organically grown sugarcane while preserving maximum levels of natural minerals like Potassium, Magnesium and Zinc Phosphorous in our organic sugar.
Nut Processing
While processing cashew nut kernels, Suminter processors skillfully remove the kernels intact from the shell and then grade them carefully to superior standards. The result is high-quality nuts which meet the highest certification and product standards.
